I’m not thrilled to make this blog political,even temporarily; but everyone needs to choose a side. I will be voting for Kamala Harris for President this November. Since President Biden dropped out of the race, I have never had a minute’s doubt that she is the right person to succeed him. People who know me, know that I am a lifelong Democrat, who has voted straight Democratic  since 1972. I made an exception once for a Republican County Clerk I knew and respected.

I am old enough to remember a Republican party that could contain both liberals and conservatives within a framework of moderation and compromise. This was was possible because most Republicans then believed in denocratic principles. Unfortunately, this is no longer true.
