My wife Susan and I are celebrating our twenty-ninth wedding anniversary this week. Our wedding was attended by the Leonard and Wolbers families of West Michigan, including both of Susan’s parents and both of mine. We spoke our vows on a hilltop overlooking the broad expanse of eastern Gun Lake, after which we traveled by boat to Bay Pointe Restaurant on Gun Lake’s south shore. Our party enjoyed dinner at the restaurant, then located in the historic Dwight villa (constructed in 1908; National Register of Historic Places), which has since been demolished by an overeager and ill-advised new owner- restaurateur.
